Dear MCC,
This week we will be continuing our series on the Five Agreements. This week’s agreement is to always do your best. As we always do our best, we must remember that our best changes from day to day. Your best today will be different from yesterday and from tomorrow.
What’s important is that we always do our best under our current circumstances. For example, right now you are probably preparing for the arrival of Hurricane Helene. This is a distracting and sometimes stressful process. Today you might be having trouble focusing, as you try to remember all the things you need to accomplish before the weather gets too severe. Under these circumstances, your best effort might be less than what it would be on a day with no severe weather, when you’ve had a great night sleep the night before, and you’re in a great mood.
Don Miguel Ruiz tells us that good things happen when we do our best. We are more productive, kinder to ourselves, and happier. So as we face the remainder of this week, and all the complications of the impending storm, remember that we must simply do our best, whatever our best happens to be on each day.
Please stay safe and let us know if you are impacted significantly by the storm.
You are loved,
Rev. Jakob
