FROM THE RABBI
Coffee and Conversation -
At services on Yom Kippur, I extended an invitation to meet with families and individuals for coffee and conversation.
We can meet in person, over Zoom simply over the phone. I would also be happy to come to your home and meet in your backyard or at the synagogue courtyard. Please contact me at rabbink@amyisrael.org so we can set up an appointment. I would love to be able to spend some time together.
B'Shalom,
Rabbi Newman Kamin
8th -12th Grade Education
Rabbi Newman Kamin is looking forward to continue her teaching the 9th - 12th Grade students on Sunday, October 31st during SJS. In addition, the Rabbi looks forward to doing a special Ask The Rabbi Session with the 8th Grade students on Sunday, October 31st during SJS.

FROM MR. SHERMAN
Dear Am Yisrael SJS Community,
Please click here to access our Grid Schedule for Sunday, October 24. The grid is organized with class tabs going from youngest to oldest classes students (infants through 12th Grade).
We have a relatively new feature on our Am Yisrael website. Near the top of each class home page it says “Please click ‘here’ to see what your [Grade of Student] is learning.” We update these links bi-monthly with narrative write-ups from our SJS Teachers. In addition to updating our class home pages (Tots through 12th Grade) with this information, we also send email updates corresponding with these written class updates. We hope you find this helpful as we want our communication with you our SJS families to keep everyone involved on the same page. We encourage you to bookmark the SJS page on your computers or devices for easy access: https://www.amyisrael.org/learning/sjs/
A second feature of our website we want to point out is the Practicing Tefillah (Prayer) page: https://www.amyisrael.org/learning/sjs/practicing-tefillah/ This page has a link to access each Tefillah we teach at Am Yisrael, along with a link to our Cantor Simon singing the prayer. This is an invaluable page which we hope you will utilize regularly.
Finally, Shira Sender, Myra Feinberg and I sent out important emails within the past couple weeks for the families who have students in 3rd-7th Grades. We have utilized materials from ShalomLearning since 2015. In that time, the organization has grown exponentially and is truly a leader the art of shifting between remote and in-person learning. It is very important that parents of 3rd-7th Grade SJS students search for an email entitled “ShalomLearning Log-in for [name of your student].” Even if you go into this account once a week, it will up your student’s skillsets tenfold.
!תּוֹדָה רַבָּה וְשַׁבָּת שָׁלוֹם
Thank you and Shabbat Shalom,
Mr. Charlie Sherman
Head of School
