AmCham Vietnam - HCMC Weekly Newsletter
January 13th, 2026
| | Update from the Executive Director | | |
We are pleased to announce that Mark Gillin, Founder, Chairman, and Managing Director of America Indochina Management Ltd. (AIM), has been re-elected as Chair of the AmCham HCMC Board of Governors for 2026. The election was held at the Board Meeting on January 8 at the Sofitel Plaza Saigon.
The Board also elected Hang Nguyen, Partner, Baker & McKenzie; and Philip Ziter, Senior Associate, Russin & Vecchi as Vice Chairs; Luke Treloard, Partner, Head of Strategy Group, and National Head of Infrastructure, Government, and Healthcare Advisory (Vietnam and Cambodia), KPMG Vietnam as Treasurer; and Van Ly, Co-Founder and Partner, Raise Partners as Secretary.
Today is the deadline for our voting members to vote on the new proposed charter, which would merge the two chapters into one Chamber. If adopted, the Charter will merge the two chapters into a single national chamber governed by one National Board, strengthening advocacy, improving coordination, reducing duplication, and ensuring equal access nationwide. Thus, make sure you VOTE!

The U.S. Consulate at Ho Chi Minh City is looking forward to presenting on its Business Visa Facilitation Program (BVFP), an initiative to make the B1/B2 visa application process smoother and more efficient for U.S. companies that regularly send Vietnamese employees to the U.S. for business. As members of the BVFP, companies provide detailed information about traveling employees prior to their visa interviews. Although membership is not a guarantee of visa issuance, company verification of the employee’s business travel helps ensure that adjudicating officers are best placed to assess the application. U.S. Consulate officials will join this meeting to discuss the BVFP, how companies apply to join, and the overall business visa application process.
