AmCham Vietnam - HCMC Weekly Newsletter
June 10th, 2025
| | Update from the Executive Director | | Vietnam has made significant progress ahead of upcoming U.S. trade negotiations, signing $3 billion worth of deals to import American agricultural products and entering a five-year cooperation agreement with the U.S. Grains Council to promote sustainable farming. These moves position Vietnam as a key trade partner as it prepares for the third round of talks next week. However, challenges remain, including a newly imposed 35% anti-dumping duty on Vietnamese shrimp exports. With just over a month left in the U.S. tariff pause, Vietnam is actively working to secure a trade agreement and strengthen its economic ties with the U.S. | | |

To make the evening even more meaningful, we invite members and friends who have worked with Ms. Burns to help us express our appreciation. If you have any photos or personal messages to share, we would love to include them in a special tribute presentation. Please register

Washington D.C., USA
Decisions that are critical to the global economy, including tax, trade, spending and national security issues, are made every day in Washington by the White House and the Congress. Each summer, the AmChams in the region take a group of members to Washington to meet top US government officials to engage in a dialog on issues affecting US trade and commerce in the Asia-Pacific area.
This year’s “Washington Doorknock” will be held from July 13-16, 2025. Doorknock delegates will be speaking firsthand with Trump Administration officials, Members of Congress, and other thought-leaders who help determine the future of US policy towards Vietnam and other countries in the region. The Doorknock is a unique opportunity to provide your input, ideas and recommendations concerning how policies made in Washington have an impact on the company or organization that you represent.
