AmCham Vietnam Ho Chi Minh City is pleased to announce Travis Mitchell's appointment as Executive Director. His perspective, professional background and expertise in U.S.-Vietnam trade & investment will enable him to deliver significant value for our members. As we commemorate AmCham Vietnam’s 30th anniversary this year, we thank all of you for your support over the years and look forward to Travis’s leadership to take our Chamber to greater heights.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our true friend, Dr. Vũ Tiến Lộc, a distinguished leader, Chairman of the Vietnam International Arbitration Centre, and former Chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI). Dr. Lộc’s unwavering dedication to fostering a vibrant and collaborative business environment in Vietnam has left an enduring legacy on both domestic and international business communities. His visionary leadership and remarkable contributions will be profoundly missed. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of working with him.

On August 6th, the Food and Beverage Committee of AmCham Vietnam in HCMC engaged in a dialogue with the Food Safety Department in HCMC. This meeting provided an excellent opportunity for both parties to discuss important issues, address concerns related to food safety regulations, share industry best practices, and ensure that both businesses and regulatory bodies are aligned on standards and compliance.

Also on August 6th, we co-hosted an event with the U.S. Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City to introduce the Business Visa Facilitation Pilot Program (BVFPP). This new initiative aims to streamline the business visa application process, making it smoother and more efficient for companies that provide additional information about their operations and the need to send personnel to the United States.

Last week, we supported the Ministry of Trade's seminar themed ‘Developing Vietnamese Suppliers to Engage Intensively in the US Value Chain,’ which explored ways to support Vietnamese suppliers in integrating into the US value chain. Our Board Member and Senior Managing Director of Target Sourcing Services Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia, Giovanni Rojas, participated as a speaker and panelist.
