The AmCham HCMC 2024 Board of Governor election process has kicked off! The AmCham Vietnam HCMC Nominating Committee is seeking your recommendations for candidates for the AmCham Vietnam HCMC Board of Governors. Voting AmCham members may recommend themselves or another person. There are eight positions open on the Board. The Nominating Committee is seeking candidates willing to actively serve for a two-year term, Jan 2025 - Dec 2026. The recommendation form explains who may recommend/be recommended, the process for recommending and formal nomination, and other important information. The deadline is coming soon -recommendations may be made through Friday, October 11. | |
On September 25, our Chair RamC participated as a special speaker at the Ho Chi Minh City Economic Forum (HEF 2024). The event focused on the significant role that businesses and various stakeholders play in driving industrial transformation. During the discussion, RamC emphasized the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors to foster innovation and sustainable growth. | |
On September 25th, AmCham and FedEx hosted an event titled “Optimizing Supply Chain Cost: Strategies for Efficiency & Profitability,” aimed at helping companies navigate Vietnam’s dynamic logistics sector. With delivery being a key challenge in the supply chain, the event highlighted how international express services can enhance efficiency and reduce costs. We will be holding similar events in Binh Duong on October 16th and Dong Nai on November 14th. For those interested in attending virtually, we also offer a Zoom option. The event "Vietnam’s Fintech Sector: Balancing Innovation and Regulation," co-hosted by the U.S. Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, the HCMC Institute for Development Studies, and AmCham Vietnam HCMC, took place on the morning of September 27. It focused on finding the right balance between innovation and regulation in Vietnam's rapidly growing fintech industry. We were honored to have the Vice Chair of the HCMC People's Committee Vo Van Hoan and the U.S. Consul General Susan Burns deliver opening remarks, along with insights from representatives of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, the Securities and Exchange Commission, and members of the private sector. | |

Draft amendments and supplements to Law on Tax Administration: we are seeking comments from members through September 27th. Received comments will be compiled for review by the Tax and Customs Committee and the Hanoi chapter before being submitted to the Ministry of Finance on October 1st, 2024.

Received comments will be compiled for review by the Tax and Customs Committee. We submitted o the General Department of Customs on Sept 24, 2024.

The ball celebrates them and their contributions to our community. The Children’s Cancer Run is nationally focused, professionally operated, and supports a financially transparent comprehensive 𝑪𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒓 𝑪𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎. The program includes treatment for disadvantaged, underprivileged, and underserved children battling cancer including clinical and psychosocial support, early detection efforts, and support for oncologists.
