AmCham HCMC & Danang Weekly Newsletter

October 21st, 2024

Update from the Executive Director

Dear AmCham,

On October 16th, AmCham and FedEx hosted the second event titled “Optimizing Supply Chain Cost: Strategies for Efficiency & Profitability” in Binh Duong Province. This event aimed to help companies navigate Vietnam’s dynamic logistics sector. With delivery being a key challenge in the supply chain, we highlighted how international express services can enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

We have a busy week ahead! I look forward to welcoming many of you to the Connect & Cocktails event at The Straits Kitchen & Bar on October 23, as well as to our World Blood Donor Day on October 24 at the Victoria Healthcare Clinic. I also look forward to seeing members at the HR Committee meeting on October 24. Remember, we try to make our events enjoyable and useful for you, so please join us if you have the time!

Has your company engaged in any ESG activities this year? Our deadline to apply for the "2024 AmCham Vietnam – HCMC ESG Impact Showcase and Excellence in ESG Impact Awards" is Friday, November 1, 2024, by 5:00 PM. We are seeking applications from members who have embarked on remarkable journeys toward sustainability and are measuring their environmental and social impact. The awards will be presented at the annual "Giving Thanks" Dinner on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

You’re going to hear me say this a lot, but AmCham is organizing several major events in November and December, so mark your calendars: the ESG Impact Excellence Awards as mentioned on November 21; the Thanksgiving Turkey Shoot Golf Tournament on November 28 at the Vietnam Golf & Country Club, and the 29th Annual Governors Ball - PEARL ANNIVERSARY on December 7 at the JW Marriott Saigon, starting at 6:00 PM. Sponsorship packages, both cash and in-kind, and tickets are available now. Proceeds from the 2024 Governors' Ball will support AmCham’s flagship Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, the AmCham Scholarship Program. Contribute to a great cause while enjoying one of the most exciting social events of the season!

As always, do let us know how we can serve you better. We wish you a safe and healthy week ahead!

Yours sincerely,

Travis Mitchell

Executive Director
