Update from the Chair

Dear AmCham,

I would like thank all members and staff involved in organizing and participating in our Chamber’s events over the past few weeks. These are remarkable examples of collective effort towards our mission of promoting trade and investment between Vietnam and the United States.

We encourage our members to participate in our sectorial Committees, suggesting events that would add value, advocacy topics, and sharing developments & insights in the monthly Committee meetings. For additional information, please feel free to contact Events and Committees Manager Lily Nguyen.

I invite members to refer qualified candidates for our Executive Director opening. This is an excellent role to lead the execution of the mission of the Chamber including membership, advocacy, and engagement efforts. You can find more details below.

AmCham was well represented at the 2024 Vietnam Business Forum (VBF) by Vice-Chair Michael Nguyen, Boeing Country Director, Governor James Meffen, AES Senior Director of Finance, as well as other HCMC and Hanoi members. He outlined significant opportunities to foster a favorable business environment and ensure sustainable economic development. The AmCham statement for the forum was prepared with inputs from Governors of each Chapters. You can read the statement here, and materials published by VBF here.

Along with Bronze member Asia Counsel, we hosted a panel discussion on Mergers and Acquisitions in Healthcare on March 21st, centered on current regulations, key factors driving today's trends in transactions, as well as different investment models and opportunities for investors. The event was kicked off by Healthcare Committee Co-Chair and Head of Strategy for Healthcare and Life Sciences at KPMG Vietnam, Luke Treloar.
