U.S. Ambassador Marc Knapper meets AmCham Vietnam HCMC & Danang Members
AmCham Vietnam, HCMC & Da Nang had event with U.S. Ambassador Marc Knapper, who gave the brief us about the new partnership and what it would mean for AmCham members on Oct 3, 2023. Ambassador shared the views of U.S. Biden’s and Vietnam Prime Minister’s trip, especially about the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership (CSP). Both U.S. and Vietnam are eager to explore new opportunities to make meaningful contributions to both countries’ socio-economic development, and meet its aspirations of becoming a high-tech, knowledge-based economy.
According to our Executive Director, Bradley Lalonde “The Comprehensive Strategic Parnership is the highest relationship that we’re proud to gain, and also another remarkable milestone since I worked on the initial process in the very beginning of this relationship (1994-2024). I really look forward to seeing how AmCham can help our members take advantage of this new relationship and new opportunity which I think will benefit in a significant way both Vietnam and the United States”.

[VBF] ESG Comprehensive Survey
ESG (Environment – Social – Governance) has become the global trend in recent years and a fundamental shift in how businesses and investors approach sustainability, responsibility, and governance. ESG is also considered a significant tool to support the implementation of the governments’ net-zero plans.
Given that context, VBF is pleased to conduct the ESG survey among VBF business community with the aim to identify businesses’ interests and needs to effectively implement ESG initiatives in Vietnam. We do hope that the data-driven insights obtained from the survey will help the Government of Vietnam to make informed decisions, regulate effectively, incentivize sustainable practices, and engage stakeholders in their efforts to achieve net-zero target by 2050 and towards sustainable development. It is expected that survey will be followed up with a ESG Report Launching by end of this year.

Survey on Investment Incentive Policies for Business Operating in Vietnam
The Ministry of Planning and Investment is currently reviewing and evaluating the overall investment incentive policies in order to promptly make necessary adjustments. This is part of an effort to shape and comprehensively reform the investment incentive system, ensuring its alignment with the trend of international integration and aiming to improve the efficiency of attracting foreign investment to Vietnam in the coming period.
