Update from the Executive Director

Dear AmCham,

AmCham was honored to attend and speak at a “Dialogue with the Business Community” chaired by the Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee Chairman, Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, on March 6, 2025. This event brought together over 100 business leaders and government officials to discuss how Vietnam can achieve double-digit growth and attract more FDI.

AmCham Executive Director Travis Mitchell provided a brief macro-overview of the U.S. trade relationship. He commended the government's efforts to improve efficiency through its recent restructuring and then outlined three challenges that American businesses face, including infrastructure development, regulatory and administrative issues, and having access to a reliable and affordable energy supply.

AmCham is looking forward to working with Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc and the rest of the Ho Chi Minh City government to drive more investment in 2025.

The Vietnam Child Wellbeing and Safeguarding Summit 2025 was held on February 28 to March 1 at RMIT University, co-hosts by RMIT University Vietnam, AmCham and Saigon International School Network, focusing on mental health, resilience, and safeguarding practices.
