We were honored to have Ambassador Marc Knapper join our Spring Ball and visit HCMC for the third time in less than one month!
Thanks to all who sponsored and/or attended AmCham’s first-ever Spring Ball, The Secret Garden. Your generous support of the Live Auction, Silent Auction, and Raffle tickets directly contributed to our scholarship programs, the AmCham Scholarship Program with its almost 1000 alumni and the AmCham Women in Engineering Scholarship with its almost 400 alumni. We are still finalizing the finances, but it was definitely both a fun event and successful fundraiser!

Upcoming Events, Committee Leadership Opportunities, and Meetings
Don’t miss the March 29 9AM special member-only virtual U.S. Embassy briefing on Ukraine, co-organized with the Ukrainian Embassy. On Wednesday, March 30, if you are a Committee leader or Board member in HCMC or Da Nang, please plan to join our virtual Board and Committee Leaders Meeting from 4:30-5:45PM to strengthen our collaboration and representation of member interests.
Whether you are an AmCham member or friend, please join our next AmCham Connect and Cocktails (right after the Board and Committee Leaders Meeting) on Wednesday, March 30 (venue TBD but will be fun!) from 6PM! And all AmCham members are invited to join this spring’s AmCham National Weekend in Da Nang April 22-24. Save the date – more details to come soon!
Committee Meetings. We are delighted to welcome members to MANY committee meetings this week! Join our Tourism and Hospitality Committee Meeting on Tuesday, March 22 at 9AM to discuss how reopening is working in practice and with guest speaker Mimi Vu, Partner and Consultant of Raise Partners to discuss child protection as part of sustainable business practices in Vietnam. Later on Tuesday, join our Women in Leadership Committee Meeting at 4:30PM to learn more about the Inter-chamber Panel Pledge event held on International Women’s Day and to discuss “what does inclusion look in workplaces created for men?”. Members are also welcome to join our Logistics & Supply Chain Committee Meeting on Wednesday, March 23 at 9AM with guest speaker, John Petrino, Director of International Marketing and Business Development of Georgia Ports Authority who will discuss US port congestion and what the Port of Savannah is doing to mitigate the impact. And join our Manufacturing Committee Meeting at 9AM on Friday, March 25, for industry updates and leadership elections and Healthcare Committee Meeting on the same day at 4:15PM to discuss plans for an Ambassador briefing on healthcare issues and plans for a U.S.-Vietnam Healthcare Dialogue.
Leadership Opportunities. A few committees are still soliciting interest from potential candidates interested in serving in leadership positions. Elections for most committees will take place in March if they haven’t already. If you are interested in serving in a leadership role, please contact existing Committee leaders, Board Liaisons, or Events and Committees Manager Lily Nguyen at lily.nguyen@amchamvietnam.com. And don’t worry if you have missed the elections; there are always opportunities to contribute if you are interested! Committee meetings are now open to both masked in-person (for fully-vaxed) and virtual participation. Please register in advance. All AmCham Vietnam members are welcome to join.
AmCham Membership Renewal. For many of you, it's time to renew your membership for 2022 and continue your involvement in AmCham, with opportunities for professional networking, business intelligence, advocacy to improve the business environment, and promotion of your business. We have been sending out 2022 Membership Renewal notices via email. We hope you all will renew promptly and that many will consider upgrading to become Premium Members! Greetings from Da Nang and I hope you are all well! Thanks for everyone who attended our Connect & Cocktails Event last Friday. What a great party and chance for everyone to connect. Special thanks to Escobeach for hosting the event and providing our members with the DJ and Fire Show, it was spectacular. Also thank to Red Apron for providing their delicious wines that complimented the massive BBQ Buffet we enjoyed.
Lastly, I would like to express my sincere congratulations to our members that recently established the Da Nang Chapter of Rotary International. We look forward to partnering with you in the future for many of your charitable activities!

AmCham, together with other key business organizations and large investors, will be meeting on Tuesday, March 22nd with HCMC People’s Committee Chairman Phan Van Mai, as part of an event titled “Consultations on Measures to Realize HCMC’s Socio-economic Development Visions towards 2030”. A copy of our remarks is attached at the LINK.
Our F&B Committee has drafted comments on a Draft Circular to revise other food safety legislation; the comments will be reviewed by our Advocacy Panel.
