How do you deal with work stress? I find working out, yoga, and finding time for a walk and a nice Friday bun thit nuong all help. Probably the 333, too.
It’s a short period between January 1 and the Tet holidays this year, but AmCham is making the most of it.

Tonight, we had a great in-person and online Board mixer organized by HCMC Chair Winnie Wong, as part of her trip this week to Hanoi. Hanoi Chair John Rockhold, Da Nang Chair Chris Vanloon, National Chair and 2021 HCMC Chair Chad Ovel were joined by over 20 Board members who shared about their day jobs, focus, and motivations for joining the AmCham Boards. Common themes were service, importance of community, unity, strength in numbers, ESG and DEI, opportunities for U.S. tech partnerships, and interest in creating an enabling environment for sustainable growth. It looks like there will be plenty of opportunities for us to work together in 2022. We look forward to our January 22 HCMC & Da Nang Strategy Session to set out our 2022 priority goals!
Tomorrow, January 18, we are excited about meetings with Binh Duong Provincial leaders and Becamex as we seek to strengthen AmCham’s presence in and partnership with Binh Duong – thanks to all who provided feedback and input on issues!
Labor trends are changing rapidly – globally and in Vietnam. Join AmCham’s Thursday, January 20th Emerging Labor Trends & Employment Insights for 2022 to learn insights from Manpower experts and Shopee about how to recruit, train, and retain a top quality workforce in an increasingly competitive environment.
And don’t miss our pre-Tet Connect & Cocktail on Wednesday, January 26 poolside at The Reverie Saigon!

Greetings from Da Nang and I hope you are all well! Thanks to all our members and friends who joined us for our latest networking event last Thursday at Olivia’s Prime Steakhouse. It was a great event and I believe we all benefited from making new connections as well as enjoying the great beer and wine supplied by Olivia’s as well as Red Apron. Also special thanks as always to Anantara Resorts in Hoi An for sponsoring our lucky draw prize!
I understand that it is becoming more challenging in recent days with new Red and Orange Zones popping up throughout the city. However, even these areas will once again become Green, based on the timely response of the city government. The best way we all can assist in this process is to continue to follow the 5K rules and staying vigilant when going out. I am confident that with our community’s support, we will press forward with the New Normal until we once again have Covid on the decline.
