AmCham Vietnam’s Vision:

We strive to continue to be the most influential, strategic, and dynamic business association in Vietnam.
AmCham welcomes American, Vietnamese, and international companies that share our interest in enabling a fair, transparent, predictable, and efficient regulatory environment that values innovation.
We are committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as environment, social, and governance values and aim to be a community you want to join.
Happy Lunar New Year from your AmCham team—we wish all our members and friends a peaceful New Year filled with health, happiness, success, and prosperity!

It is an honor to have been elected Chairman of AmCham’s Board of Governors in HCMC for the year 2023. I appreciate the confidence and support of my fellow Governors and AmCham members. The year 2023 will bring great opportunities, and inevitably some challenges, for the economies of both the U.S. and Vietnam. AmCham will reinforce its close collaboration with the U.S. business community in Vietnam, with the U.S. Mission, and with the Vietnamese government to continue to strengthen the important trade relationship between the two countries. We look forward to contributing to the sustainable growth of that commerce in the interest of AmCham’s members.

I would like to congratulate my colleagues who have been elected to the Executive Committee of the Board of Governors for the year 2023:
I would like to express appreciation to my fellow Board members who served AmCham so diligently in 2022, especially to Winnie Wong, whose stable leadership as Chair for the year 2022 guided AmCham through a successful period of post-Covid recovery.
2023 AmCham Vietnam HCMC & Da Nang Board of Governors Strategy Session. AmCham’s new Boards of Governors for HCMC and Da Nang met for a spirited afternoon of brainstorming at our annual offsite strategy session on January 14, facilitated by Astrid Matarrita-Chinchilla, Clinical Psychologist and Couples Counselor at Saigon Psychology. The sunset view at the evening reception at The Cloud on the 48th Floor of Vinpearl Landmark 81 was a welcome reward after an afternoon of hard work and collaboration.

Many thanks to all the talented business leaders on our Boards for finding the time to help make AmCham Vietnam an even more effective organization in service to our members. With your support, we look forward to a busy and successful Year of the Cat in 2023.

U.S. Chamber CEO Calls for U.S. Leadership on Trade. In her annual State of American Business address, U.S. Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Suzanne Clark called for U.S. leadership on international trade. “We have to boost trade. When we trade and invest with other countries, we are not only supporting jobs and creating opportunities here in the U.S., we are deepening strategic partnerships and advancing free enterprise both here and abroad,” she said, adding that “Today we have trade deals with 20 countries, and it has been 10 years since we’ve added a single new partner to that list. Meanwhile, other countries have inked 100 new trade deals without us. I’ve said it before, and I’ll say it again: If you are standing still, you are falling behind.” Further, she said that the Biden Administration should “Aim higher on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework. We applaud the administration for launching IPEF, but we need an ambitious outcome—with strong rules on digital trade and, crucially, market access.” Her remarks as delivered are available here, and the video is available here. Click here for additional interviews and related materials.
