Spring 2022 Newsletter
Letter from our Director
Rachelle Saldate
We are excited to share several new things happening at Amador College Connect. With Karen Warburton leaving to pursue another position, we have hired two new staff members: Debra Bergman-Donnell as our Transition Specialist will focus on high school dual/concurrent enrollment and our early childhood education apprenticeship, and Michelle Tillery as Program Assistant will oversee our MHSA (human services) scholarship and Jackson Rancheria Casino employee scholarship. Look for their bios below!

Our Center is slowly opening back up to the public as we enjoy warmer weather and reduced Covid-19 restrictions. Walk-in visitors are now welcome, and masks are optional. Student cohort meetings, tutoring sessions, and financial aid appointments are now offered in a hybrid (online or face-to-face) format to accommodate all.
In addition to remaining busy helping students apply and register for the upcoming summer and fall semesters, we have been able to attend a few community events, such as Dandelion Days where staff, ACCF Board Members, and students worked the booth and were able to stir up more community interest. Additionally, Debra was able to share our program with students at Argonaut High School. We look forward to attending more events later this year as we continue to reach out to the public on how to obtain higher education online while living in Amador County or the surrounding region.
We have extended our hours!

Monday 12 PM - 8 PM
Tuesday 12 PM - 8 PM
Wednesday 9 AM - 3 PM
Thursday 12 PM - 8 PM
Friday 9 AM - 3 PM

She will be coordinating with colleges and establishing intern opportunities with mental health services throughout Amador and Calaveras counties. Michelle holds associate degrees in Human Services and in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Elementary Teaching, K-12. She also has a certificate in GIS, Geographic Information Systems. For fun, Michelle loves training service dogs!

DEBRA BERGMAN-DONNELL
Debra brings with her 25 years of teaching experience from grades 7 through college. She holds an MFA in writing, a BA in English, and an AA in travel industries. She is excited to oversee the dual enrollment program for Amador County’s three public high schools and homeschooled students. She assists students in pursuing required high school courses and/or getting a head start on their college goals. Debra is also working with early childhood education students to pursue certification and/or degree diplomas through various community sponsors and scholarships. For fun, Debra teaches Polynesian dance in Ione.
WE ALWAYS NEED TUTORS!
If you have talent in a subject matter that might help our students, we want to hear from you!
All of our tutors are volunteers who have a desire to help out in the community. If you have an interest
in sharing your wisdom, please contact us. Our greatest needs are in Accounting, Math, Science, and Human Services. But if you are skilled in a particular academic area of any type, we'd love to put you on our list of volunteers!
