Amana Continues COVID Mitigation Strategies:
As we end the year, we wanted to remind our Amana families that we will be continuing our mitigation strategies and safety protocols- including wearing masks both indoors and outdoors. We're incredibly proud of the effort all our staff, students, and parents have put in to ensure a stellar safety track record, and our goal is to remain consistent with our safety approach until the end of the school year.

Volunteers Needed for 8th Graduation
Drive-Through Celebration:
The time has come to celebrate our 8th grade graduation! Due to the pandemic our graduation will look a bit different, so we are in need of many volunteers to help us pull off an amazing drive-through celebration for our 8th graders.
If you are a parent in 1st-7th grade, we would appreciate any help that can be given on that special day of Friday, May 21st from timeslots ranging between 4:30 pm to 8:30 p.m. Thank you!

Will You Be Joining our 7th Graders to Build a Better World on Friday?
Amana's 7th Grade students are asking that all Amana families help collect plastic pollution on or before Friday, May 7th as part of the Amana Academy Better World Day celebration. Please help make the world better by going outside to help your students collect plastic pollution in our community.
After the collection, students would appreciate it if you could use this form: https://bit.ly/BetterWorldDayCollection to record the number of items that you collect, the weight of the items if you have a scale, and pictures of your family collecting the plastic pollution. Students will tally the results to help them see how much of an impact they made on our community during this special week. Here is one of the seventh grade student videos about this event.
Here are some recommendations:
- Use gloves and masks when you collect to be extra safe. Use hand sanitizer as soon as you are done.
-
Walk around your neighborhood. You could make the project a fun and educational event by using a community map to let all family members help plan where you will go and what materials you will need . Nearby parks and strip malls are often good places to find debris that gets blown around the community.
-
Be sure to have materials to collect the debris on-hand so that your student can dispose of it properly. Unfortunately, you may not be able to recycle trash found on the ground since only rinsed materials can be recycled. Here is a link to trash disposal and recycling guidelines for two nearby cities: Roswell brochure and Alpharetta brochure.
Thanks for caring and supporting our students as they try to make the world a better place!

Amana PTO Fundraiser: Socks for Good
Want to look cute, feel cuter, and help a GREAT cause? Shop for some snazzy socks and support your favorite PTO at the same time. We want to raise funds to help with funding some of our continual programming needs and also build up our account so that next school year when we return to full F2F that we can have funding to do all the wonderful things that our Amana Community wants to do. BUT even more AWESOME, is that for every 2 pairs of socks purchased, we get 1 free pair to donate to a charity of our choosing.
