Memorial Day, Monday, May 25
Almighty God, we commend to your gracious care and keeping those who serve in our armed forces at home and abroad. As we remember this Memorial Day all those who sacrificed themselves for our nation’s ideals, defend with your heavenly grace all who risk themselves in these times; strengthen them in their trials and temptations; give them courage to face the perils which beset them; and grant them a sense of your abiding presence wherever they may be; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Pentecost Sunday at Grace
Join us Sunday, May 24, as we celebrate Pentecost — the birthday of the Church and the coming of the Holy Spirit upon the disciples. Wear red as we gather in worship, give thanks for the Spirit’s presence among us, and celebrate the life and mission of the Church together. Pentecost remains one of the great feast days of the Church year and reminds us that God continues to send us out into the world filled with hope, courage, and love.
THE COLLECT OF THE DAY
Almighty God, on this day you opened the way of eternal life to every race and nation by the promised gift of your Holy Spirit: Shed abroad this gift throughout the world by the preaching of the Gospel, that it may reach to the ends of the earth; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.

Well
God’s invitation is not for the select few, but rather for all who long to drink deeply from the well of eternal life. We have all been invited to become God’s children, and to come to drink from Jesus, the living water. And that is good news, no matter where you are from, your situation in life, or what others think of you.
