CUSD Sports Update!
Hello CUSD Community and Families,

Last week our school sites participated in the "Great Kindness Challenge," which ended on Friday, January 28, 2022. The objective of this event is to create a culture of kindness, compassion, acceptance, unity, and respect. Please take a moment to view our student's and staff's activities.

The Calexico High School Band students recently auditioned for the Imperial County Honor Band. Several of our students ranked very highly and performed at the IMVEA Honor Band Concert on Saturday, January 29, 2022, at Southwest High School. . The concert and our students were a great success and a great representation of the CHS band program!

This week, CUSD sponsored free COVID-19 testing Drive-By clinics, Monday through Friday, from 3:30 to 7:00 p.m. The Clinics will continue to be held at William Moreno Jr. High and Enrique Camarena Junior High. Staff, Students, and their immediate families will be eligible for testing. Please take advantage of this opportunity if you or your child requires COVID-19 testing.

All school sites will continue distributing the "iHealth COVID Home Testing kits for students. Parents will need to fill out a google form to sign up to receive a test for each student in their family. If you have not picked up a testing kit for your child, please register using the link on the flyer above.

We will continue to provide updates as more information and resources become available to help our students, staff, and families navigate the COVID-19 Pandemic healthily and safely.

Please continue to monitor your child for any COVID-like symptoms and keep them home if ill. Your support is crucial to maintaining a safe and healthy environment. Please help us keep our schools open.

As per the guidance from the Imperial County Health Department on the Use of Face Coverings, all individuals are required to continue wearing face coverings in certain public high-risk indoor areas such as K-12 school sites, public transit, and healthcare settings. Please know that all staff and students will be required to wear masks at all CUSD facilities and school sites until further notice.
Lastly, take a moment to view this week's school highlights and special recognitions this week!
Have a wonderful weekend,

Thank you, Carlos R. Gonzales, CUSD Superintendent
