Columbus Rescue Mission on the Move!
The Columbus Rescue Mission is still located at 1471-25th Avenue. Work continues at the old Mory's Haven location, but there is still much more that needs to be done before the move takes place. God is in control and His timing is perfect. We trust in his will as His amazing grace continues to shower upon us. Please continue to pray for us during this period of transition.

We are still in need of financial donations to complete the work that needs to be done before we are able to move into the new facility. If God puts it on your heart to make a donation, please contact the mission at 402-563-1096 and ask for Karen or Nathan or click on the tab below.

Columbus and Living Water Rescue Mission
I say it often, the Columbus & Living Water Rescue Mission exists because of and for Jesus Christ. We exist because of the Gospel. Apart from Jesus Christ and His finished work upon the cross, whereby sinners may be reconciled to God, all we do would be in vain.
We offer many services at the mission. Hot meals, groceries, clothing, household items, furniture, emergency shelter, sober living, biblical counsel, and much more. We do all of this ultimately for one reason. For the glory of God, so that He would receive that for which He came. As the old Moravian mission call says, “May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering.” The reward of His suffering, which is people. As the Father says to Jesus in Psalm 2:8 “Ask of Me and I will give you the nations for Your inheritance, and the ends of the earth for your possession.” The nations are made up of, PEOPLE. Those who turn in faith and repentance and trust in Jesus Christ alone for their salvation. For, as Acts 4:12 says, “There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

So, while we offer many services, our main goal and purpose is to see people turn to Jesus Christ. Along with that then is also our great passion for discipleship. That those who to turn to Jesus in faith and repentance would then be taught biblically and experientially to follow Jesus Christ and mature in the faith.

As the apostle Paul prayed for the Colossians after hearing about their turning to Christ in Colossians 1:9-11 “And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.”

This is our heart for this ministry. Would you please join us in praying Colossians 1:9-11 for the men and women at the Columbus and Living Water Rescue Mission?

Columbus Rescue Mission New Life Program
Over three decades of drug use, prison, jail time and countless broken relationships. Add all those together and you would get our newest disciple Philip Krieger. Most people would have given up on such a person, it would appear that any and all hope is lost. But I am reminded of what Jesus told His disciples in relation to who can be saved. Luke 18:27 But He said, “The things which are impossible with men are possible with God.” Philip now has a desire to follow Jesus, to give it all to Him. Philip has been here in the program less than two weeks, please pray for him as the pull from the world will be strong.

Another one of our disciples (Demetreous) served as a cook before he came to the Columbus Rescue Mission. He is an amazing cook and is coming up with unique and delicious meals for our guests from time to time. God has blessed Demetreous with so many wonderful talents and cooking is certainly one of them. Praise the Lord for Demetreous, our Men's Ministry Leader Luke, and for our other disciples in the New Life Program.

Would You Please Consider Volunteering at the Columbus and Living Water Rescue Mission?

1 Peter 4:10 Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.

With busy lives, it can be hard to find time to volunteer, however the benefits of volunteering can be enormous to you, your family, and the Rescue Missions in Columbus & York. We are needing volunteers to help us from anytime between 9:00 a.m.and 4:00 p.m. in Columbus on Monday and between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We also are currently in need of evening chapel leaders – ½ hour a month or weekly blesses us greatly. We also have some nights available on our calendar to bring in an evening meal. If you are interested in bringing in a dinner please call Mindy Bates at 402-246-2058. We can always use painters and fixer-uppers. Finally, there is a tremendous need for translators for our Spanish speaking guests.

If you would like to be a blessing to those in need, please call Karen in Columbus at 402-563-1096 or LaVerna in York at 402-362-0127.
