Amazon Insurance Requirements
Dear Valued Customer,
You may be aware of the announcement from Amazon regarding their requirements for all sellers to carry valid product liability insurance once they have reached a certain sales volume. This has actually been a long-standing requirement by Amazon, but one that has not been stringently enforced. In the past, Amazon’s policy on this matter required a seller to carry valid insurance if they sold $10,000 on the marketplace in three consecutive months. The new Amazon policy states that a seller must now carry valid insurance if they sell $10,000 in any single month.
Please do not confuse what Amazon is requiring with the product liability insurance Vitalabs maintains for all of the products we provide. If you meet the minimum requirements in terms of sales, Amazon is going to require each brand owner to carry their own insurance policy in addition to any coverage that brand owner may have under the Vitalabs’ policy.
The good news is that Amazon is offering a new program called “Amazon Insurance Accelerator” which provides a very affordable solution for this situation. We hope the attachment will be very helpful in explaining more details on this program including the very reasonable costs involved.
