People throughout the county will see messages promoting all the steps that election officials take to protect votes and make sure every eligible vote is counted. Voting Equipment is NEVER Connected to the Internet

Securing technology is one of the ways we protect votes and we have strong cybersecurity measures in place. Voting system software and voting equipment are NEVER connected to the internet, don’t have modems or hardware that could be turned on remotely and USB ports are locked. Only Eligible People Can Vote

When registering to vote, people must sign, under penalty of perjury, that they meet eligibility requirements. Voter registration is validated against the Department of Motor Vehicles and Social Security Administration databases.

It's Okay Not to Have All the Answers

People you speak or correspond with may have questions about how elections work and we encourage you to share what you’ve learned with them. Feel free to use the material below or create your own content. Please tag the Contra Costa County Elections Division (see social handles below) and use #CoCoVote and #TrustedInfo2024 in your social media posts.


You don’t have to be an expert to make a difference and it’s okay not to have all the answers. Let people know they can visit secure-election.org for answers to common questions, videos and fact sheets. If they have more questions, they can contact the Elections Division by calling (925) 335-7800 or emailing voter.services@vote.cccounty.us.
