NEW VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES!
|
|
Volunteers needed in Osceola County
|
The Kissimmee Valley Livestock Show and Osceola County Fair are looking for volunteers from February 11-20, 2022! These volunteer stations are from AdventHealth.
We have opportunities in two areas:
Event Center (indoors) –
Monitor the AdventHealth Mothers Care Center for supplies such as wipes and diapers and keeping an eye on the room. This area is an area mothers can bring their children to change diapers, take a break with their babies, and relax. Female preference for this. Hours of operation are opening day from 5 PM to midnight (although we often close earlier due to weather or attendance). All other Friday/Saturday/Sunday from noon until midnight (also subject to early closing), and Monday – Thursday 5 PM to midnight.
Monitor AdventHealth Quiet Room. This room is set up for children with sensory issues or a place mom’s or dad’s can bring young ones away from all the noise and flashing lights. We will have a few games and things for the kids to do in the room and monitoring the games and answer any general questions.
Hayloft Interactive Experience (outdoors and under a large tent) -
This area is under a large span tent and is approximately 60’ by 30’ with games for the kids to play (cornhole, giant checkers, etc.), pedal tractors, farm displays, and agriculture information. Monitoring the games, makings sure to watch for anything broken and report concerns or safety issues, and keeping an eye on the displays. No knowledge of agriculture is required as that is in the displays and exhibits. Same hours with the Event Center location.
If you are 55 years or older and interested in this or any other volunteer opportunity in Osceola County through our AmeriCorps Seniors volunteer program, please contact Sharon Smith at ssmith@vcifl.org or 407-298-4180.
