The USA Pickleball Association (USAPA) has seen an increase from 9,000 members to 40,000 members in 2020 with over a 1,000% increase since 2013. Justin Maloof, USAPA Executive Director, stated there are over 8,000 playing locations and over 130 manufacturers involved now with equipment sold at Amazon, Walmart, Target, Dick’s Sporting Goods plus others. ESPN and CBS Sports has covered the national championships at Indian Wells, CA, the past two years.
Foster added, “now Fox Sports Florida will have the first weekly television show in America focused on all aspects of the Pickleball lifestyle, fun, amateur and pro competition, equipment insights, instructional tips, fashion, Pickleball trips and vacations, health and wellness segments and even Pickleball with a Purpose charity events. Foster Events plans are to syndicate the program nationally by 2021.”
“This reminds me of when I launched the nation’s first weekly tennis television show, “Inside Florida Tennis” back in 1985 prior to The Tennis Channel then syndicated it nationally as “The Tennis Magazine Show” to over 70 million cable homes via the regional sports networks,” stated Foster.
