National Farmworker Jobs Program

  • 420 enrollments is the goal for PY 2023-2024    

USDA Farmworker COVID Relief

  • The new plan is to assist 8,613 farmworkers.
  • The grant ends 10/31/2024

La Cooperativa – Dislocated Ag

  • 62 enrollments from the grant that ended 9/30/2023
  • La Cooperativa will apply for a new grant

La Cooperativa – Housing Grant

  • 79 enrollments is the goal for PY 2023-2024

Microbusiness COVID-19 Relief Grant

The grant provided $2,500 to eligible Kern County Microbusinesses who had been affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

  • 369 applications got approved and a total of $922,500 was awarded

Public Safety Realignment

Planned services this year include training in forklift, safety and welding. GED testing and work experience

  • 13th year grant period 07/01/2023 - 06/30/2024
  • We currently have 49 participants of our goal of 100

Prison to Employment

Paid work experience, OJT training, career planning, job placement, job search, and referral to training

  • Grant period is from 6/1/2023 – 12/31/2025 and our goal is 42 participants

Cal Fresh Employment & Training SNAP Program

ETR receives referrals from DHS Staff of general assistance customers receiving food stamps. ETR then provides an initial assessment and direct job placement, JSA workshops and possible OJT and unpaid work experience

  • 3,894 Referrals and 1,157 attendees as of March 2020
  • Numbers are updated monthly, and grant periods ends 9/30/2024

Homeless Veteran Reintegration Program

This grant is to enable Veterans to reach their full employment potential and obtain high-quality career outcomes, who are experiencing homelessness- ETR will offer career counseling job placement and referrals to vocational training

  • Our goal is to enroll 245 into a training activity such as short term training, ITA's, Transitional Jobs, or OJT

Regional Equity & Recovery Partnership

Partnership with Bakersfield College, Taft College, and Cerro Coso Community College to provide healthcare related training in LVN, LVN-RN, EMT, CAN, Healthcare Worker, Medical Assistant / Administration

  • We currently have 29 and our goal is 120 participants.
  • Grant periods ends 9/30/2025

High Roads Construction Career

Multi-Craft trade unions pre-apprenticeship training program with Valley Build (MC3)

  • We had 18-20 participants graduate from past cohorts and the 5th cohort group will graduate in February of 2024
  • Currently seeking Veterans to join the next MC3 Cohort that starts on April 1st (10-Week Training)

SHORT TERM JOB READINESS & TRANSITIONAL JOBS

Bakersfield Adult School

Café 1600 Culinary arts program (6 Months)

  • 16 participants for the year and a new cohort will start in January of 2024

 

Recycling Lives

Warehouse / Logistics Partnership Program (13 Weeks)

  • 45 total participants in past four cohorts


Proteus, Inc.

General Office Clerk (14 Weeks)

  • Program ended in August of 2023 and had 16 participants

 

MAOF -Bookkeeping

(Open Entry / Open Exit)

  • 20 enrolled participants are currently in the program
  • Office occupations ended in September of 2023 and 8 graduated from the program
