Dear brothers and sisters in our Lord Jesus, part of the growing repentance remnant, members of His flock, of which Jesus is the Shepherd (John 10:16), Jesus being the first to preach His gift of repentance (Matthew 4:17), now calling on each of us also to preach repentance (Luke 24:47).
Pastor Jay Johnston is wonderful teacher on the power of prayer. Day after day he calls this USA nation to personal and national prayer.
Here's his latest word:
In a time of division, uncertainty, and unrest, the greatest need in America today is not found in policies, wealth, or power but in a collective turning of hearts back to God.
The undercurrent of unrest across our nation reveals a deeper spiritual thirst that no material success can satisfy.
The prophet Jeremiah reminds us of this truth:
"The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?" Jeremiah 17:9
While this verse acknowledges the brokenness of every human heart, it also underscores the necessity of God's transformative power.
In John 6:35, Jesus offers the remedy to our nation's greatest need:
"Then Jesus declared, 'I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.'"
America's true hunger and thirst will be satisfied only by a restored relationship with Christ.
This means humbling ourselves, acknowledging our need, and seeking God through prayer and repentance.
As followers of Christ, we are called to be agents of this restoration by living out Christ's love and truth in our communities.
When we persevere in prayer, act with compassion, and embody grace, we become vessels through which God's healing flows.
Let us pray for softened hearts, growing humility, and unity rooted in Christ to take hold across our land.
May we echo the psalmist's cry:
"Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." Psalm 51:10
May we choose today to turn back to God.
As individuals and as a nation, we will find hope, healing, and the peace that surpasses all understanding—God's greatest gift to a thirsty world.

Among the many issues on which we can repent, one issue is our failure to preach repentance and to make disciples as the Risen Christ clearly commanded. (Matthew 28:19.20; Luke 24:47).
His Godly Solution using repentance worked to heal the drought in Corpus Christi Texas this year; now it is being applied October 31 in both the USA on the Mall in DC, thanks to the Nehemiah Alliance, and also on October 31 in Australia.
And now South Africa is planning its national day of repentance for this coming Monday, November 2, 2026.
