This week we're presenting Addison Gallery of American Art, Danforth Art Museum and Williams College Museum of Art.
Each of these exhibits examines a different part of America's past and recontextualizes it in the present - from a photo journey through the vanishing world of 1950s Americana to modern takes on a 19th century bronze sculpture to a telling of stories that should be remembered, lest they be repeated.
The deadline to advertise in the March / April edition of Artscope Magazine is Thursday, Feb. 15. Contact advertise@artscopemagazine.com right away to book!

Addison Gallery of American Art presents Robert Frank and Todd Webb: Across America, 1955, an exhibit that pairs together the work of photographers Robert Frank and Todd Webb who both worked under a Guggenheim fellowship in 1955 with no knowledge of the other artist. The show was organized by the Houston Museum of Fine Art. Both artists attempted to capture the concept of "vanishing Americana" and while their work is, at times, strikingly similar, there is a nuanced difference between the styles of Frank and Webb. The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Addison Gallery of American Art is located at 3 Chapel Ave., Andover MA. The pair work in collage, enamel and photography. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 12 to 5 p.m., Danforth Art Museum is located at 14 Vernon Street, Framingham MA.
