Numbers often tell the story of immigration. How many migrants arrive each year? Through what channels (legal or otherwise)? From what countries? With what occupational and educational backgrounds? How many are apprehended for illegal entry or visa violations, held in detention, and ultimately deported. And how many return to their home countries voluntarily? The studies in the "Immigration Demographics" collection seek answers to questions like these in order to ground immigration policy-making in a solid basis of fact.
