As part of this transition, Executive Vice President & General Counsel Miguel Rodriguez will assume leadership over American Pharmacies’ advocacy efforts. Miguel and Michael will continue working closely together, combining their deep policy expertise and longstanding partnership to strengthen APRx’s influence at both the state and federal levels.
APRx President Laird Leavoy emphasized the strength of this transition:
“As Senior Government Affairs Advisor, Michael will continue to be a driving force for independent pharmacies. We are equally excited to see Miguel step into this expanded role. The two of them working together gives American Pharmacies a powerful, seasoned team leading our advocacy efforts nationwide.”
Miguel echoed this commitment, noting that the partnership remains unchanged in purpose and focus:
“I am honored to take on this additional responsibility and lead American Pharmacies’ advocacy initiatives. Continuing to work side-by-side with Michael ensures we can build on our momentum and advance policies that benefit independent pharmacies and the patients they serve.”
APRx Board Chairman Steven Hoffart also shared his support for the transition, highlighting the value of experience and continuity:
“Michael’s continued involvement—and Miguel’s expanded role—creates a tremendous advantage for American Pharmacies and the independent pharmacy community. Their partnership has already produced significant wins and having them continue as a united team strengthens our ability to fight for independent pharmacies across the country.”
