	May 25-27, 2023, a small delegation of APG members visited the Spanish pistachio industry. Click on the button below to view the report from the trip detailing what we saw, and our meeting with the European Pistachio Council, based in Madrid.
	The 2022 World Pistachio Trade Report identifies major producing, importing, and exporting trading countries to describe movement of pistachios traded internationally. The report's statistics, for most countries, include calendar years 2013 to 2021. The Administrative Committee for Pistachios (ACP) also provides U.S. export trade statistics. This report is published in the fall each year because several countries do not release their pistachio trade information until September for the previous year. Instead of delaying the report, these countries report their pistachio trade statistics, and a second edition of the report will be published in October 2022 with their statistics.

	The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) extended the deadline for the Emergency Relief Program (ERP) Phase Two and Pandemic Assistance Revenue Program (PARP) to July 14, 2023. This extension will allow producers more time to apply for assistance. The original deadline was June 2, 2023.
	USDA hosted a webinar that focused on completing the PARP application form on June 8, 2023 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Eastern with members of the National Farm Income Tax Extension Committee. To learn how to apply for PARP, click on the button below.
	APG is a member of the Alliance of California Farmers and Ranchers Community. The Farm to Table event is an excellent opportunity to build relationships with elected officials and discuss important issues facing California's agricultural industry.
	The Community Fund plans to facilitate several educational initiatives to enhance policymaker's understanding of California's agricultural industry. These initiatives include farmer-led tours, hosting events that bring policymakers and industry leaders together, conducting specifically tailored presentations, and serving as a critical source of information for California Legislators, their staff, and the Administration.
	APG's LeadOn Leadership class spent the morning of May 18, 2023, learning about the California State Legislature and California Regulatory Issues. APG's Director of Government Relations Cadee Condit spoke about key state issues and the legislative bill process. APG's longtime State Lobbyist, George Soares with Kahn Soares & Conway, spoke about the importance of creating relationships to shift and create good Public Policy. CEO and President of the Central Valley Biz Fed, Clint Olivier spoke about future threats to California.
