It's Spring...But It Feels Like Summer

Even though spring just arrived last Friday, it feels like we're skipping over it directly to summer! I've got my eyes on a few new summer tees. But before I get to those, I'm excited to cast on a Spring Shawl Make-A-Long project! Cast On starts on April 10th...keep reading to find out about this new community stitching event!

Cast On for the Spring Shawl Make-A-Long (MAL)

It's time for a Spring Shawl Make-A-Long!

Shawls/Wraps are an essential garment for the climate on California’s stunning Central Coast, especially for those chilly mornings and evenings and for when the marine layer sneaks up on you!

Here’s how the MAL works…to join the fun, select a shawl (scarfs and cowls are also ok) to knit or crochet, purchase the yarn at the shop or online, and we will gift you the pattern! We have some kits to choose from online, but you can also come into the shop to pick your own.

On Friday April 10th, we will all cast on together in person at the shop @ 12PM during Friday Fiber Friends.

FIPs and WIPs

Last week, I didn't have any new projects to share, but this week I have both a new FIP (FInished Project) and a new WIP (Work In Progress) to post.

I finished my 2nd pair of Sailor Slippers that I cast-on during the class last month. For these slippers, I paired a striping and a solid Young & Trendy yarn and love the results! And Will out-did himself with the puffy paint sole design!

And I finally found my project for the new Glimmer yarn...I'm holding Glimmer and Diva double for the straps and top border of the Tulum tank top. And I'm using Zooey (Cotton/Linen Blend) for the body. I'll share a FIP photo next week!

New Classes & Learn to Knit Drop-In Sessions

I've added a few new classes this week including Intro to Sweater Knitting and Fixing Mistakes. These are both gonna be great classes!

And I'm trying out a new in-person learning opportunity for anyone who has wanted to learn to Knit but never been able to find the time to sign up for a class or learned to Knit a while ago and needs some skill freshening up...weekly Learn to Knit Drop-In Sessions start on April 12th!

Join us in the shop every Friday from 12 - 1:30PM for Community Stitching Fun! From April 17th - June 26th, we'll be sharing this time with the Spring Shawl MAL Stitchers.

Bring your current project or pick out your next project. Get some help or give some help. There really are no rules!
