IN THIS ISSUE: Featured News, Amplify Opportunities, Upcoming Events, Kudos
Dear ,

Hello and welcome to the March issue of the Amplify WomenTM newsletter!

As we leave 2020 in the history books, we can look ahead to future history making opportunities, but not without first recognizing the momentous achievement of having a woman elected to the Office of the Vice President of the United States of America - the highest-ranking female ever elected in U.S. history. This is not only an achievement for Kamala Harris, but for everyone in terms of the growing diversity in our elected officials, as it speaks to desire of the people to be appropriately represented. This doesn’t only ring true in elected office though; our wish is to also achieve diversity in our workplaces.

As Amplify Women seeks to foster education, influence and networking among women in the captive insurance industry, we strive to support the professional development and provide equal opportunities to all those who are engaged and looking to build successful careers in the captive insurance industry.

In October, I was offered and accepted an opportunity to lead and develop a new captive practice for NFP. It was through years of hard work and dedication to my career, that lead to this achievement for me, but I owe gratitude and thanks to the women who have supported and encouraged me along the way, as well as to those who chose to provide me challenges. As I’m sure with our Madam Vice President and many of you, the road to the notable achievements within our careers have not come easy, and though I’m not one to dwell on the trials and tribulations, they are worth acknowledging, learning, and then moving on from. It is those experiences that have provided the most valuable lessons in my career, both the things that I wish to emulate and the things that I do not.

As a leader in our industry, I think of the vital role that I, and others, play in supporting the development and opportunities for other women. We all have a choice in supporting each other from a place of respect, kindness, integrity, and humility, not judgement and malevolence. We are stronger when we make this choice and support one another, and we see the positive impact this has for all of us. Success in my career is marked by having the trust and respect of my colleagues and clients, the knowledge I gain through listening to those who offer me their time and seek to collaborate, and by having the opportunity to develop and watch those I lead flourish and reap new opportunities within our industry. And it is without doubt that I can say, it has been the strength and support of my diverse network that has contributed to my success.

In this this issue you will hear about new opportunities and the recognition for some members of our Amplify Women community and other thought leaders in our industry, as well as upcoming events.

So, as the months move on in 2021, let us all continue to promote the mission of Amplify Women to foster education – because unless we are learning we are not growing, influence – from a place of respect, kindness, integrity, and humility, and encourage networking – for the strength and support we need of others when we are being too hard on ourselves.
