What Lies Beneath? The Strength to Shine.

“I wouldn't be here without Bright Futures, LIA, and Dream Big"

- Amy Nava, Utah Tech University | PCHS 2025

Amy Nava (PCHS 2025) earned six scholarships, graduated with five cords (and an honors cord!), and still says she wishes she had accomplished more academically.

There's plenty of time for this Utah Tech freshman to accomplish anything she puts her mind to. For now, Amy is determined to illuminate what lies below the surface, in both her radiology studies... and life.

Two Bright Futures Graduates Pursue Master's Degrees

TWO Bright Futures college graduates have embarked on a journey to earn master's degrees!

Dania Pantaleon (PCHS 2021 | USU 2025) will work her way through the Utah State Master of Human Resources Program.

And Lindsay Carreto (PCHS 2020 | USU 2023), PCEF's wonderful former Bright Futures coordinator, started her post-grad studies in Social Work at The University of Utah this fall.

Congratulations, Lindsay and Dania - and best of luck! We are so proud of you.

Bright Futures Team: Solid Foundation for Expanded First-Gen Access

“I’m thrilled more students will be able to participate in Bright Futures. But it’s not just about participation - it’s about success. And the new strategy creates a perfect launchpad for student success."

-Pepper Elliot, Bright Futures Counselor

“I feel fulfilled by the uniqueness each Bright Futures student brings to the table every day. While they all share the identity of being first-generation, their goals, dreams, and career aspirations are very diverse. Watching them work toward and achieve both academic and personal milestones has been incredibly rewarding.” - Valeria Sandoval, BF College Program Manager

Dream Big, Bright Futures! ¡Sueña en Grande, un Futuro Brillante!

"This whole summer we've been learning. I'm taking AP English Language and AP US History, so we've been preparing for what to expect in those classes."

- Alexa, Dream Big/BF Student | PCHS Class of 2027

The Dream Big summer program is A LOT of work, but it sneaks in a few minutes of fun here and there!

This month, 42 Dream Big/Bright Futures students visited the USU campus to learn about careers, majors, and how to pay for college.

Most Bright Futures students participate in Dream Big, which provides four weeks of intense summer coursework (in addition to programming throughout the school year), in which students prepare for the rigorous academic curriculum in AP and concurrent enrollment classes.

With Gratitude, We Honor the Memory and Legacy of Michael Range

Park City Education Foundation honors Rolf Michael Range, his vision, and his generosity.

PCEF is deeply grateful to Michael Range, who established the Michael and Sandrina Villegas Range First Generation Hispanic Scholarship in 2020, to honor his late wife, Sandrina.

The Range Scholarship continues to create many lasting opportunities for Park City’s Bright Futures and first-generation students. The impact of his legacy will lift young lives and our community for generations to come.

On behalf of PCEF and the students we serve: thank you, Michael, for opening doors, inspiring hope, and bestowing a legacy that will never be forgotten.

What is PCEF's Bright Futures?

Bright Futures changes lives by supporting motivated first-generation students as they work to get to and through post-secondary education.

The PCEF Bright Futures program walks alongside these first-gen students as they make their post-high school graduation dreams a reality.

Nationwide - just 24% of first-gen college students make it to the graduation finish line. Bright Futures goal is to change those odds for Park City students.

Your generosity is an investment into our future: it changes students' lives and economic outcomes for generations to come.

First Generation Task Force at PCHS

Through Bright Futures and the counselors, teachers and programming at PCHS, a full spectrum of support is provided for students who are the first in their families to go to college.

Dream Big and Bright Futures work hand in hand. Dream Big is an award winning year-round PCHS curriculum preparing students for the academic rigor of AP classes, college concurrent enrollment classes, and the ACT.

The Latinos in Action classes from 6th-12th grade teach leadership and community service skills, focusing on the strength of students' bilingual capabilities and multicultural experiences.
