During the 2-day conference, I moderated a panel entitled,
Chefs, Media& Public Opinion: with panelists: Gino Campagna chef , food authority & TV personality, Janet Zappala, anchor/reporter for Your Health Matters at KMIR News (NBC), Chef Lee Knaz (Israel) owner of Mission Olive.
I was also able to sign copies of
The Ultimate Mediterranean Diet Cookbook and learn about the latest scientific research surrounding the Mediterranean Lifestyle. It was amazing to hear about how many positive initiatives are taking place in schools, places of employment, and hospitals around the country to promote healthful eating and living practices.
On April 8 I had the chance to travel to Verona, Italy with The Italian Trade Agency to attend some of the industry's most exciting epicurean events. In addition to learning about new products on the market, I was able to further my knowledge of the time honored techniques in wine, cheese, pasta, and olive oil making that are still being practiced today.
