An Easter Egg Hunt from Your Couch

This week  the JP4 Foundation will be hiding Easter eggs in social media posts, emails, and throughout our website. A total of 12 eggs will be hidden between now and Easter morning, Sunday April 12th! The first person to find an egg, capture it in a screenshot and email the screenshot to [email protected] will receive a gift card ranging in value between $25-$50. Claimed Easter eggs will be announced  via Twitter.

As a special bonus, there will be one golden egg which will include not only a gift card for the lucky winner, but also a $100 donation that will be directed to the winner's charity of choice! The donation has been offered by a JP4 Foundation team member.

Throughout the years many small businesses have supported the JP4 Foundation, and this is our chance to help them. Below is a sneak peek at some of the gift cards that can be found this week.

JP4 Foundation Holds Fast to Plans to Deliver Summer-Long Baseball Camps
...c ontingency planning underway

How's this for good news? Even in this time of uncertainty, we are optimistic about our future and are continuing with plans to offer three summer-long baseball camps for kids in at-risk communities. We place a high value on these camps which prioritize nourishing the minds and bodies of campers above athletic skills.

Clearly, our communities value these camps as well. Camp sizes have increased year over year. In 2020, the JP4 Foundation plans on impacting 120 kids throughout East Saint Paul, North Minneapolis, and South Minneapolis this summer, in partnership with the Police Activities League of Minneapolis and the Sanneh Foundation.

Our Board of Directors is meeting regularly and working on contingency plans to address the needs of these communities throughout the summer months. Our goal is to ensure kids in these communities have access to healthy activity that includes healthy meals and the ability to build healthy relationships with peers and adults.

"We are actively working to identify alternative approaches given the uncertainty of our times. We're confident we will find a way to engage with kids in these communities to offer healthy food, healthy activity, and opportunities to build healthy relationships;" said Jeff Huth, JP4 Foundation Executive Director. "We'll do what it takes to get creative and make sure we have a presence in these communities."

Fun for Our Homebound!

Every day for the next few weeks, the JP4 Foundation will be releasing fun and meaningful activities to support our community. Check out one of our social media pages to see today's activity.

$10,000 Strike Still On... New Date will Roll Out Soon

Al Newman's 2nd Annual Bowling for Baseball Tournament has been postponed. But don't worry! We are planning for a new date. The delay will give Al more time to practice rolling the perfect ball for the $10,000 Strike opportunity presented by Twin Cities Orthopedics.

Second Annual Unified Wiffle Ball Tournament Postponed

The JP4 Foundation's Second Annual Unified Wiffle Ball Tournament, scheduled for Sunday, March 22 was postponed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We take seriously the health and wellbeing of our community, said Jeff Huth, JP4 Foundation Executive Director. "This tournament is a fan favorite as it unites Special Olympic athletes with other youth baseball players for competition and camaraderie. While a make-up day for this tournament has not been announced, we will ensure this tournament gets rescheduled when it is safe to do so."

The JP4 Foundation exists to enrich the lives of youth through baseball. The Unified Wiffle Ball Tournament provides the opportunity to bring groups together to learn life lessons and grow as a community.

The JP4 Foundation partners with Special Olympics Minnesota for the Unified Wiffle Ball Tournament, which is sponsored by Twin Cities Orthopedics and other program donors.
