Trans Day of Visibility

This special afternoon is all about community, creativity, and connection, bringing together people of all ages to honor and uplift transgender visibility in our community. Drop in for crafts and creative activities, games, snacks, and refreshments, along with information and resources for attendees and their families. Whether you're coming to celebrate, learn, or simply show up in solidarity, all are welcome.


Hoboken Public Library is proud to celebrate Trans Day of Visibility alongside Mayor Emily B. Jabbour, the City of Hoboken Pride Advisory Committee, and Hudson Pride Center.

Laughs in the Stacks

Our first comedy benefit sold out, so we're bringing it back!


Comedian Bret Raybould (Comedy Central, SiriusXM) is returning to Hoboken Public Library with a night of stand-up featuring professional comedians with credits on Comedy Central, HBO, SiriusXM, and their own hour specials.


Proceeds from the show benefit the Hoboken Public Library Friends & Foundation, and seating is limited so grab your spot before it's gone.

Horror/Thriller Book Club

Horror/Thriller Book Club returns to discuss The Graceview Patient by Caitlin Starling, a deeply unsettling blend of psychological horror, gothic dread, and slasher tension. In a crumbling hospital with a dark history of unethical experiments, a doctor and her patient begin experiencing the same impossible phenomena, and the line between sanity and delusion, healer and sufferer, starts to dissolve completely.


Read Ahead: Later this month, we will discuss Memorials by Richard Chizmar. Copies are on reserve on the second floor of the Main Library.

Unemployment Insurance Assistance

As a grantee of the NJ DOL Cares Grant, Hoboken Public Library offers free Unemployment Insurance Enrollment Assistance twice a month in the Reading Room on the second floor. Library staff will guide you through the application or certification process and help troubleshoot any questions along the way. Laptops will be provided.


Please bring valid identification and any documents related to your work history.


Please note that assistance is available for New Jersey Unemployment Insurance claims only.

Math Circle

with Stevens Institute of Technology

Led by STEM undergraduates and developed by faculty in Stevens' Department of Mathematical Sciences, this program takes math off the page and into the real world through games, puzzles, and hands-on activities.
