My God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation.
-2 Samuel 22:3
Last week, the Supreme Court gave us a breath of fresh air, a ray of sunshine, if you will, in its rulings to support LGBTQ rights and DACA. Did you feel your load lighten for just a brief moment? I know I did.

It's almost like the sun is peeking through, just a little, for these social justice movements built on the rock of time. The momentum is shifting, and we are called to stand firm to support justice for people of color and the LGBTQ community. And, as Pastor Taylor mentioned, it's not just about turning inward OR moving to act. It takes a commitment to both for each of us. It's what God is calling us to do.

Thanks to those of you who shared your parable activities about the good shepherd last week. How will you "build" on the parable this week?
Download the June activity PDF here . Remember to email me ( barnabas@fumcaustin.org ) or post on social media ( #FUMCBarnabas ) the ways you play along with building this week. We'll share a few submissions during worship Sunday. See you soon!

Be encouraged.
