An Event-Full August
As the close of summer looms near, there are no signs of slowing down in Chautauqua County. August greets us with an event calendar jam-packed with live music performances, outdoor recreation, leisure learning opportunities, markets, festivals and more. It's our last chance to cross items off our summer bucket lists, to take the kids to Midway State Park, to visit Chautauqua Institution and Lake Erie beaches. 
 
The Chautauqua Institution Food Festival
August 20-25, 2017 
Join us from Aug. 20 to 25 for a week-long food, craft beverage and entertainment festival in Bestor Plaza featuring renowned speakers from the culinary world as well as a daily roster of food- and drink-themed events from cooking demonstrations and competitions to interactive experiences and tastings prepared by the best regional restaurants, farms, wineries and breweries.

Special week-long Food Festival Only Gate Passes begin at only $75.00. Daily Passes are also available.

 
3rd Annual Chautauqua Gran Fondo
August 26, 2017
The 42 mile tour around beautiful Chautauqua Lake will direct riders through a number of notable historic destinations including past Lucille Ball's childhood home, Midway State Park, Chautauqua Insitution and more. The Chautauqua Gran Fondo also features a family-friendly 20 mile loop that is highlighted by a trip across Chautauqua Lake via the Bemus Point-Stow Ferry.

 4 For 44 Team Relay & Beer Mile
September 10, 2017
The 4 For 44 Team Relay at Chautauqua Lake makes its debut with a picturesque course traveling through lakeside villages, parks and Lake Erie Wine Country. The race starts and ends at Southern Tier Brewing Company. If the team relay isn't your style, consider signing up for the Beer Mile!

America's Grape Country Wine Fest
August 11-13, 2017
The two and half day festival showcases the best of NYS Wines, agricultural producers, breweries and distilleries. The festival is about everything local and features the area's finest craft artisans and lifestyle companies. Learn about the various companies and products in a fun and entertaining environment with live local music, wine and cooking demonstrations and a classic car show. 
The Battle of Lighthouse Point
August 19, 2017
 Come and join in the excitement as the historic Dunkirk Lighthouse is transported back to the 1860's. Witness history come alive as a small Confederate garrison protects the lighthouse and the adjoining Salt Works from Union control. Weapons demonstrations as well as a look into daily camp life will occur.
