The Fleet's new film, Island of Lemurs: Madagascar, takes you on a spectacular journey to the remote island of Madagascar to meet its most famous inhabitants: lemurs. In addition to being unique and entertaining creatures, lemurs can teach us about conservation and evolutionary biology, two important scientific topics.

On Monday, August 21, the Great American Eclipse will occur over North America. This is the first total solar eclipse visible in the continental U.S. in over 38 years, and there won't be even a partial solar eclipse visible from San Diego after this until 2023. The Fleet is hosting a whole month's worth of fun and educational eclipse-related events, culminating the morning of the eclipse when we welcome you to join us to (safely!) view the eclipse from the plaza outside the Fleet Science Center.
exciting video games events

Our latest traveling exhibition,  Game Masters, is tons of fun ... and we've got new, exciting gaming-related events coming up this month! In addition to being open until 10 p.m. every Friday in August as part of Balboa Park After Dark, the Fleet is also hosting an All-Night Gaming event. Plus, two different events delve deeper into video games. The first,  Video Games to the Rescue, is all about  how video game technology is helping us find imaginative solutions to the world's challenges. Power-Up! Inside Video Games invites video game specialists to discuss the creative elements that bring all of our favorite games to life. Game on!
