An Honest Advent
Father Casey
Once again this year we are stretching our observance of Advent beyond the traditional four weeks to nearly 40 days. We choose to do this because the themes of the season – waiting, hoping, persevering, turning – deserve more time and attention. In truth I feel like the world is always in Advent: heaven has already come down to earth at the Incarnation, but our weak and weary world is still waiting for the full inbreaking of the glory of God.

Advent Festival This Sunday
Advent Festival: A Voice Crying in the Wilderness
November 9, 10:00–11:00am in Roper Hall
Travel back in time with us to ancient Israel & Judah for an interactive Advent Festival for all ages. You’ll meet Daniel in the lion’s den, Ezekiel in the valley of dry bones, John the Baptist on the riverbank, and many more. These towering figures from scripture dedicated their lives to helping God’s people find their way back to the path of righteousness and justice. Let us heed their words as we prepare a way for Christ in our hearts.
Amid the prophets you will find our Angel Tree in Roper Hall. Adopt an Angel and help bring joy to families in need this Christmas. Our collections will benefit families at Vogel and families that utilize our Food Pantry. Adopt Angels through the end of November and return gifts by Sunday, December 7.
