Now Offering Virtual Building & Safety Inspections

The ongoing Pandemic and social distancing measures have made remote workplaces and virtual meetings a part of our everyday lives and this has brought the need for virtual inspections to light.

The City's Building and Safety Division has implemented a virtual inspection program that offers inspections for bathroom remodels, kitchen remodels, PV and other interior residential inspections. Using mobile phones and tablets, building inspectors can now connect with contractors and homeowners to visually access the technical components of permitted work resulting in an approval or corrections while maintaining the social distancing guidelines. This new process allows us to document the work being inspected and eliminate the need to enter homes thus reducing close contact and ensuring the health and safety of all parties. At this time, our ability to offer these remote inspections is limited to specific types of inspections. The Building and Safety Division is dedicated to providing a superior level of customer service to the community by utilizing technology and innovation.
