Funds Still Available for COVID-Compliant Businesses

San Bernardino County’s COVID-Compliant Business Partnership Program is the first-of-its-kind to be launched in California. It recognizes and rewards businesses that are working hard to comply with state guidelines for reopening. This work is part of the County’s commitment to rebuilding and recovery. Since the program’s launch, more than 3,000 businesses have applied for recognition as a COVID-Compliant Business Partner and received funding to help underwrite the cost of compliance. Close to $7 million has already been awarded to date, but more money is still available, and eligible small businesses can receive grants of $2,500.
At the core of the program is recognizing that if we want to keep our doors open in San Bernardino County, we have to keep COVID out. This specifically means using the State guidance documents to create an operational plan that will help keep both employees and patrons safe. By now we all know the drill – require both employee and patron face coverings around strangers, except when sitting down to eat. Maintain safe distancing in your operation, with signs and ground markers to help show what this means in your business. And provide sanitizer and encourage frequent hand washing.

PPP Application Deadline Extended to August 8, 2020
Small businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic now have until August 8, 2020 to apply for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), which provides loans that are entirely forgivable if borrowers spend at least 60% of the loan funds on payroll expenses. SBA will forgive loans if all employee retention criteria are met, and the funds are used for eligible expenses. Click here to read more about PPP loan forgiveness.
In an effort to understand the impacts COVID-19 has created on local businesses, the City has created a short survey to help guide decisions that will support local businesses in the community through this crisis. Your feedback is important and will remain confidential.
Outdoor Dining Guidelines
State and local Health Department regulations have limited the capacity of interior dining and retail areas in response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. The City of Rancho Cucamonga has created guidance for outdoor dining, sales, and service areas. These temporary installations will allow increased capacity to serve patrons normally handled inside the business.

If you are interested in setting up an outdoor dining area, please contact the Rancho Cucamonga Fire District at (909) 477-2770 or by email
