I hope that you and yours are managing as well as possible during this difficult time. Perhaps you’re working from home, reconnecting with your family, or completing projects around the house. If you or your loved ones have been affected by this illness, we extend our heartfelt wishes for health and recovery.

Like many schools across our country, Girard College’s campus is closed until further notice. Fortunately, our faculty rose to the challenge and commenced Virtual GC without missing a beat. Our families have responded very positively to this online instruction, and we've seen many inspiring images of our students doing their lessons from home.

Many of you have asked how you can help at this time. That is why we have established the COVID-19 Relief Fund for Girard College.

Some of the priorities that the relief fund will address include:

  • Supporting graduating seniors whose college financial aid packages have been affected due to the coronavirus pandemic
  • Enhancing instructional technology and training and purchasing Chromebooks and iPads
  • Providing mental health and wellness support for students, families, and staff
  • Increasing learning support and additional instruction for students
  • Purchasing additional cleaning supplies, services & equipment

We ask your consideration in making a gift to help Girard students through this challenging time and to address their future needs.
With the passing of the CARES Act, most individual taxpayers will become eligible for significant tax benefits for charitable contributions made this year. Two of these benefits will be:
  • A $300 Above-the-Line Charitable Deduction, meaning that individuals who do not itemize their deductions will be eligible to claim up to $300 of charitable deductions in 2020, on top of the standard deduction.

  • Modified Limitations on Cash Charitable Contributions – For 2020, the 60% AGI limitation on cash contributions to 501(c)(3) organizations is suspended for 2020, excluding cash contributions to private foundations and Donor Advised Funds.
There is a saying that you have been assigned this mountain to show others it can be moved. Together, we can help our students, help one another, and climb this mountain.

Thank you for all you do for Girard College.

Hail Girard!
