You received a letter yesterday from Dr. Diane Starkovich, Superintendent of Schools, outlining plans for the Archdiocesan Catholic schools as we look at the end of the school year. The letter indicated that, "graduation ceremonies, baccalaureate masses, and other large gatherings of our students will be conducted, as much as possible, with virtual technology." We are indeed planning for a virtual graduation for our entire class of 2020, as it might be the only time we can honor them as a whole.
That said, we want to assure you that St. Pius X Catholic High School has not closed the door on a second graduation celebration or gathering, set in the near future, when it will be safe and clear to assemble as a large community. We are in discussion with the Office of Catholic Schools about those plans. In these strange times, St. Pius X wants to make sure that we celebrate our Seniors well and creatively address this challenge. We will do our best to keep you informed and ask, as always, that you pray not only for a safe and quick end to the virus, but for all of our senior families at Pius, across the archdiocese, and around the world.
