Serra High School Continues to Plan for New School Year
Dear Parents and Guardians,

Our summer information email was sent to you on Monday.  Please take the time to upload all your son's forms and respect the deadlines.  This information will allow us to continue to move forward and focus on the opening of school in August.

As we messaged to you earlier, we are moving ahead with plans to reopen our campus to students with our hybrid learning model on August 17.  In the past few weeks, there has been a considerable amount of information released on the county and state level regarding school openings in various districts.  We assume that county and state guidelines will continue to evolve as the health data changes and the local agencies assess educational models that support the health of the community and the education of our students.  We will continue to monitor this information and stay in contact with the county health office, the Archdiocese of San Francisco and the San Mateo County Office of Education.

It is important to recall that we developed instructional schedules that will allow us to provide an outstanding education for our Padres, regardless of the environment.  The hybrid and distance learning schedules provide consistency to the A/B class rotation -- whether a student is learning on campus or at home.  We are fully committed to our mission that embeds academic excellence, faith formation, and a supportive brotherhood at the heart of our culture - for every Serra Padre. Should any of the emerging data impact our planning for August, we will keep you informed, and we will be ready!

In the coming weeks, we will be publishing our roadmap for re-opening and scheduling additional webinars for our parent community, which we hope will provide you with answers to the many questions you might have as we move forward.

In addition to planning for our return to school, we have been working on some exciting school improvements.  Upgrades to our physical campus are underway, and new technology equipment for teachers and classrooms are being distributed and installed.  The academic office continues to work with our technology team and teachers to design the professional development needed to support our teachers in the new learning models.  We are excited to be enhancing our school and will be sharing details with you as we approach the new school year!

Sincerely,
