Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I hope this message finds you well.

After 14 plus incredibly rewarding years as CEO/Executive Officer of the DVBA,
I will be leaving this position for an opportunity nearer my family in Washington State. It’s been an extraordinary journey, and I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude for the trust, collaboration, and support you’ve all extended to me over the years.

Working with each of you has been one of the most fulfilling aspects of my career. Whether we partnered on a single issue or worked together over many years, I’ve genuinely valued our relationship, the friendships built. The shared commitment to building the DVBA Association and my contributions to continuing to represent the industry on your behalf has been very fulfilling.

As I step into this new position, I’m pleased to share that James Brownyard
will be assuming the role of Interim Executive Officer for the DVBA. James has served as the DVBA’s Vice President of Legislative & Governmental Affairs for
the past 15+ years, and brings over 20 years of experience to the role. He has a passion for the message that DVBA represents to you the membership and for continuing the level of excellence you’ve come to expect. You can reach James directly at
james@thedvba.org or office line at (760) 776-7001 or his mobile phone of (760) 562-1735.

Additionally, the DVBA has a new Administrative Assistant, Vickie Murguia, who comes to the Association with over 25 years in vacation rental property management experience and is a long-time resident of the Coachella Valley.

I hope you will welcome Vickie to the DVBA when you have the chance to meet her, as well as give your full support to James & Vickie as they continue to carry on the outstanding work & recognition that the DVBA does on behalf of the Homebuilding Industry.

While I am leaving the Coachella Valley, my new position will be fully engaged with a fellow Homebuilders association in the Tacoma area and I will to continue to promote housing for all, while working to create the opportunities for our industry to be robust and strong. I hope to stay connected, and I truly believe our paths will cross again in the future.

Thank you once again for the privilege of working with you. I look forward to this next chapter with excitement, as well as a deep and profound sense of appreciation for the amazing people I’ve had the honor to work with there throughout the Coachella Valley.

Sincerely,

Gretchen Gutierrez
