Dear Vanir Family:

Greetings! I hope this message finds you all well and that you are enjoying the remainder of summer and the beginning of the autumn season. September usually brings with it new beginnings as people prepare for a new school year, fall weather and fall cleaning. This year is no different. Vanir continues to work on business planning for the next fiscal year and we are excited about the reports from our area managers on their plans for the coming year.

On September 11, we provided a solemn 20th-anniversary salute to all who suffered at the hands of the 9/11 attackers, and we remember them and their families as the nation continues to mourn this tremendous loss. We also salute the many courageous first responders who protected the dignity of this country as we protected the nation and its people. Nothing is as important as the liberty of this nation, and I honor all who perished on that memorable day and all who serve our country each day of the year.

September is also known as National Hispanic Heritage Month. I was honored to receive an award from Telemundo and the Cowboys in Dallas, Texas to celebrate Latinos in business. While an honor to receive this award, I thank and acknowledge the entire Vanir team for your continued service and dedication to the company which makes our successes possible. Vanir prides itself on supporting diverse communities. As part of Vanir’s salute to National Hispanic Heritage Month, in addition to highlighting Ellie Jones, we also proudly reflect on Vanir’s work in the Latino community, including our past work in rehabilitating the El Soldado Statue, which honors the Mexican-American veterans who served our country and the spirit of a group of mothers who united over 70 years ago with the goal of recognizing them with this monument, and the countless hours dedicated to promoting higher education at colleges and universities.

I am so proud to announce that Vanir’s track record for safety has been recognized by our workers' compensation carrier. This year, Vanir has been awarded the Risk Control Bronze Award for its safety and claims management program. This is the second year in a row that we have been bestowed this honor for excellence in safety management. Congratulations to everyone. Vanir makes safety a priority for all of its projects.

I also congratulate our teams for August project wins, including a significant win for Vanir to serve as owner’s representative for the County of Pueblo Detention Center in Colorado and as construction manager for the Department of General Services Jesse Unruh Renovation project in California. Congratulations to all of our team members who work so hard from the proposal stage to interviewing and contract review to win these projects!

My best regards,
