A PEEK FROM THE PEAKS: FALL NEVER LOOKED SO GOOD
From the foothills to the scenic summits of nearby Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks, Winston-Salem's autumn is a vibrant patchwork quilt of auburn, mahogany, and marigold that warmly wraps you in inspiring outdoor explorations and rejuvenating views of nature. Whether you are an avid outdoors enthusiast or simply a soul looking for a quiet stroll through nature, Winston-Salem's autumn is the perfect place to "take a hike" from the every day.

THE "B" IS FOR BANDANNA
(AND BRAVERY)

Even before face coverings were required, local artisan, Jenni Hopkins, was designing a bandanna line in Winston-Salem. Inspired by her grandfather, Earl -- affectionately known as PawPaw, Jenni reminisces, "always had a bandanna in his back pocket." To Hopkins, each Jenni Earle bandanna is more than a mere square of cotton, rather a talisman of bravery, each infused with courage and conviction. After what felt like years of defeat, this woman waymaker found herself and her purpose.

FALL AT THE FOLLY

This is fall, step back in time, 220 years to be exact, at historic Korner's Folly. A Victorian-era historic home of peculiar proportions, the Folly is known by many as "the strangest home in America," standing three stories tall with seven distinct levels.
Consider planning your visit in conjunction with the month-long, citywide Oktoberfest celebration. Enjoy pours from local craft breweries, sample savory cuisine at a variety of restaurants, and discover a trove of wonders at Korner's Folly.

REYNOLDA REOPENS WITH TIFFANY GLASS ON DISPLAY
Ask anyone what comes to mind when they hear the word “Tiffany” and you’re likely to get a range of responses. A movie with Audrey Hepburn. A luxury jeweler with that signature blue box. A singer from the 1980s (if you’re of-a-certain-age). It’s not surprising. For a brand that is seemingly well known for one thing, Tiffany remains for most more of an idea of luxury than a collection of vintage objects, art and craft to be experienced first hand. Until now.

BREWING BIZ IS BUZZING

A dream deferred? Not here. Winston-Salem's two newest coffee roasters have more than just their love of java beans, they each made the move to Winston-Salem in spite of the pandemic to pursue their passion of roasting excellent coffee. From two different parts of the country (Long Island and West Palm Beach), each have found their wake-up call in Winston-Salem.

CRAFTING FALL'S PERFECT PAIRINGS

As the birthplace of North Carolina craft beer (we proudly crafted our first brewery in 1776!), we take our beer seriously. With eight downtown breweries pouring stouts, porters, and lagers, we've asked a couple of local chefs to handpick some of their favorite sudsy-savory combos. The pairings they've shared are travel-worthy to say the least. Try one, or try them all, when you travel back to Winston-Salem this fall.
