Plastics in Boulder County and a Move Toward a More Circular Economy

Please join us for this virtual event focused on practical strategies to minimize plastics in Boulder County and how we can move together toward a more circular economy.
First, you will have the opportunity to watch The Story of Plastic at home. Then, on Tuesday, February 9 from 5 - 6 PM, we invite you to participate in a conversation about the film with Executive Producer Michael O'Heaney. The following afternoon, Wednesday, February 10, we will host two panel sessions to explore the challenges and opportunities for local solutions, including advocacy, philanthropy, and individual action.

The Story of Plastic Talk Back with Executive Producer, Michael O'Heaney

Michael O’Heaney is Executive Director of The Story of Stuff Project, a pioneering new media initiative whose nine widely acclaimed animated films—beginning with 2007’s The Story of Stuff—explain where our Stuff comes from and where it goes when we throw it away. Michael is also an Executive Producer of The Story of Plastic, the Project’s first feature-length documentary.

From Single-Use to Systems Change: How to Reduce Plastic Production, Consumption, and Pollution
|

The Systems Change panel will look at how local, state, and national systems create challenges and opportunities for advancing a circular economy and minimizing plastic production, consumption, and pollution. This panel will be moderated by KC Becker, Former Speaker of the Colorado House of Representatives, and will feature experts working to change local, regional, and national systems.
