Iberia Performing Arts League’s
USO Christmas Show - Twenty Years Later
is an original musical, recreating the typical USO show enjoyed by the American troops.
The show features music from the 40s to the 70s. Popular Christmas music along with traditional Christmas music, comedy and skits will highlight the show. The success of the production in 2014 and 2015 led IPAL to do this new production.
USO Christmas Show- Twenty Years Later
will feature an on-stage combo typical of the era and will showcase the usual IPAL production values. According to director Doc Voorhies, “I remember watching Bob Hope USO Christmas shows on TV. I hope this show gives you as much Christmas Spirit as I got then. We are dedicating this to our Vietnam Veterans who deserve so much respect and honor.”
The play is an original musical presented by the Iberia Performing Arts League in New Iberia’s Essanee Theater (126 Iberia St.) for one weekend only, Nov. 30 – Dec 3. Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening performances are at 7:30 p.m. and there will be two matinees: Sat., Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. and Sun., Dec. 3 at 3 p.m.
