AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ILLINOIS ARTISTS

The Illinois Arts Council has partnered with the Capital Development Board’s Art-in-Architecture Program in promoting an opportunity for Illinois artists. The Art-in-Architecture Program of the Capital Development Board is pleased to announce a Request for Qualifications to Illinois professional artists for the purchase of permanent original art.

William Rainey Harper College Canning Center in Palatine, Illinois is seeking to purchase original public art for the Canning Center which will house the Student Center, Hospitality Facilities, and the University Center departments and programs. The Center’s design shall address the diverse culture of the student community and provide connecting links to adjacent buildings.

The Committee is seeking an exterior artwork that is designed to actively engage participants and encourage them to explore, connect, and contribute to an evolving narrative of unity in our society. Although the committee has no preferred medium, format, or theme, the piece should broadly consider the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Please read the RFQ carefully to learn how to apply.
