AN OPPORTUNITY FOR ILLINOIS ORGANIZATIONS, EDUCATORS & COMMUNITIES

The Illinois Criminal Justice Information Authority (ICJIA) has released a Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) for Illinois organizations, communities, and educators. The ICJIA's Restore, Reinvest, and Renew (R3) grant provides assistance for programming in historically underserved Illinois communities. R3 provides 25% of Cannabis Regulation and Trust Act tax revenues in grants to restore communities impacted by economic disinvestment, violence, and the severe and multilayered harm caused by the war on drugs.

Funded programs will offer evidence-based, promising, or innovative practices within at least one of the five R3 Program Priority Areas: civil legal aid, economic development, re-entry from the criminal justice system, violence prevention, and youth development.

Funding is available for the period of July 1, 2024 through June 30, 2025.

Eligibility

In order to be eligible, organizations must have a DUNS number, a SAM.gov account, a Grants.gov account, be in good standing with the Illinois Secretary of State, and not be on the state no-pay list (See Prequalification Steps for details). Common types of eligible applicants are nonprofit organizations, local units of government, and tax-exempt faith-based organizations. Other organizations may also be eligible to join the proposed program as members of a collaborative. Click here to learn more about collaboratives in the R3 program.
